Zero Waste Scotland is launching a £5 million capital grant programme on behalf of the Scottish Government to develop plastics reprocessing infrastructure in Scotland.

The programme can provide financial assistance towards facilities capable of sorting, recycling and reprocessing a range of plastic waste, thereby diverting a minimum of 20,000 additional tonnes from landfill per annum.

The Programme has been designed to help support the Government’s target of halving waste to landfill by 2012 by providing capital support for investment in processing capacity to enable the construction industry to recycle their waste arisings rather than dispose of them to landfill.

Wales SME Recycling Support Grant Scheme
Closing date: 31 March 11

WRAP Cymru are launching a grant scheme designed to significantly increase recycling rates in Wales by providing financial support to organisations which are able to offer specialist recycling services for Welsh SMEs

A waste capacity study carried out jointly by Advantage West Midlands (AWM) and the Regional Technical Advisory Body on Waste (RTAB) forecasts that by 2020/21 the West Midlands (WM) will have a significant waste infrastructure capacity gap.

There is no closing date for applications, although funding is finite and available on a first come, first served basis.  The programme closes at the end of March 2011, so no further funding will be available after this date.  WRAP will aim to provide a response to applicants within a maximum of four weeks of receiving a completed application form and requested documents.
